the world is yours

finally hereeeee!

current location: TOTSUKA, YOKOHAMA, KANAGAWA-KEN [戸塚区, 横浜市, 神奈川県]

I’m hereeeee. wow. :) sooo, I’m currently studying in Japan as an exchange student at Meiji Gakuin University in Yokohama! My program is a Global Studies Program, so I’ll be taking mainly international relations courses, and hopefully  conducting my own independent research and internship! But that doesn’t mean, I’m not gonna play! :)

recaps of day one:

(basically, this is gonna be in bullet form because who wants to read paragraphs upon paragraphs of me rambling? not I.)

  • On the plane ride (Singapore Airlines!!!) I met a cool exchange student! Except she was returning to Japan, since she just completed her program at CSU Northridge studying English Literature!
  • YES I got the window seat, and YES I had a seat empty next to me, meaning more room, but NO I did not enjoy my 13 hour flight because some stupid UCLA Law student sitting in front of me (he introduced himself since he overheard me talking) couldn’t stop moving sleeping positions the entire time. The seats weren’t even that uncomfortable. Ah wells, Star Trek was meh and I didn’t really watch too many of the channels. (but I give them props for showing Bollywood!)
  • JAPAN IS HUMID AS HELLLLLLLLLLLLL.
  • transportation is とても 便利! (very convenient). AND ALWAYS ON TIME.
  • everyone is so polite, except this one cabdriver who didn’t help me take my three huge luggages out of the car! だめな…
  • It’s hard to tell the difference between coins of Yen, but I will learn eventually!!!
  • Japan = consumerism on crack
  • Thanks to the convienent ASAHI vending machines, which are found everywhere, I will never go thirsty again.
  • JAPAN STARBUCKS COFFEE JELLY IS FREAKIN AMAZING.
  • Lots of people like to eat/shop/do shit individually. Its not uncommon to see lots of people just eat by themselves.
  • There is too much to see everywhere, so I find myself blocking major passageways and sidewalks just trying to soak it all in. And I’m only in Yokohama…still so much to do and explore!!!
